George RR Martin has signed a lucrative contract with HBO.
The station is planning six new "Game of Thrones" series.
The successful series "Game of Thrones", which is known to be a huge success, is based on George RR Martin's fantasy novels.
According to HBO, it was even the most successful series in the history of the station.
Six more offshoots are expected to build on this success - some insiders even speak of seven “Game of Thrones” spin-offs *.
The mastermind behind the “A Song of Ice and Fire” book is now also on board for the planned productions.

, Martin has signed a contract to work on programming for HBO and the in-house streaming service HBO Max.
According to the report, the contract has a term of five years and is endowed with a
mid-range eight-digit amount
.
Given the success of
Game of Thrones
, HBO has been considering spin-offs for several years.
After the series ended, the broadcaster experienced a drastic drop in viewership.
With the offshoots, HBO wants to counteract this.
There are currently
six series in development
that are set in the Game of Thrones universe.
The most advanced is "House of the Dragon", which describes the conquest of Westeros by the House of Targaryen and serves as a prequel to the original series.

Martin's work should
not be limited to the "Game of Thrones" spin-offs

He currently acts as executive producer on the upcoming series "Who Fears Death" and "Roadmarks", both of which are also based on novels.
With all the projects Martin is involved in, the question arises whether his work as a book author falls by the wayside.
