(ANSA) - LIMA, APRIL 12 - At least 20 people died and another 14 were injured in a serious accident that took place yesterday morning in the Peruvian province of Sihuas in the Ancash region, when a passenger bus ran off the road near Parobamba and overturned several times in uncultivated land.
This was announced by Rpp diLima radio.
The police announced that the bus of the FamaTours company was heading towards Chimbote and subsequently towards the capital from the areas of Huanchayllo and Parobamba, with dozens of passengers on board who had gone to vote for general elections in their places of origin.
A first hypothesis about the accident formulated by the traffic police blamed it on the driver, who was probably driving at a very high speed.
Finally, it was learned that 18 people died on the spot, while another two died in hospital due to the severity of their injuries.
