After a week with four consecutive records of infections, this Monday the Government again reported a worrying figure:

In this way, 66% of the infections are being registered between both districts, driven by the outbreak in the AMBA.

In the last 24 hours, the health ministries of all the provinces uploaded

64,947 tests

to the national system.

The positivity rate - which measures how many people swabbed had the virus - was once again very high:

The new report is known after the country went through the week with the highest number of new infections, after the exodus for Easter.

Between Monday 5 and Sunday 11,

139,080

infections

had been detected

, an average of

almost 20 thousand

per day.

A fact: until last week, no daily part had exceeded 18,500.

Argentina accumulates more than 2.5 million positive cases and 57 thousand deaths since the beginning of the health crisis and remains among

the 15 most affected countries

in both variables.

This afternoon, the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and the health authorities of the province of Buenos Aires and the City of Buenos Aires held a virtual meeting.

Although the meeting did not lead to specific announcements, from the Casa Rosada they admit

"concern"

about the level of occupied beds in the metropolitan area.

The Government is evaluating providing that both in the public system and in the private sphere

"only emergencies" be attended again

and surgeries are rescheduled, to free beds, while broadening the discussion regarding possible new restriction measures.

For now, the closures would not point to Education, although it is evaluated to reduce the presence in the classrooms.

It was confirmed by the national minister Nicolás Trotta.

In statements to the Télam agency, he clarified that "it is proposed to reduce circulation in general terms, which may impact the school."

But he clarified that in this scenario, before "other restrictions must be included, linked to socialization."

He also argued that "well-cared places must be strengthened outside of school, it is not that (the boys) can take up all extracurricular activities".

Until this Monday, according to official data,

almost 5.4 million vaccines

were applied in the country

;

more than 85% to people who received only one dose.

This is due to the recommendation of the Ministry of Health to extend the start of immunization to a larger population and to defer the second injection that completes the scheme.
