(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 11 - We spend more and more time in front of our smartphones, an attitude that has been accentuated with pandemic: in the last two years time has increased by about 30% reaching an average of 4.2 hours a day .

Messaging apps have seen a strong increase, as have games apps.

In short, you write and play more.

This was revealed by the research company App Annie, based on data collected in 16 countries (among these there is no Italy) in the first quarter of 2021 and compared with those of 2019 and 2020. If the world average of time spent every day attached to devices furniture is 4.2 hours, there are countries that even reach 5 hours such as Brazil, South Korea and Indonesia.

In India, compared to the first quarter of 2019, the increase in time spent was about 80%;

in Russia and Turkey, 50% and 45% respectively.

    According to the research, messaging apps had a strong increase in the first quarter of 2021, in particular Signal and Telegram, perhaps preferred by users after the many controversies about Whatsapp and its new privacy legislation.

Specifically, Germany, France and the United Kingdom were the European countries in which Signal was placed at the top of the ranking of the so-called "Breakout Apps", that is, those that have seen a boom in downloads, both on iOS and on Android.

   Among the games stands High Hells, a very popular title on TikTok, which has reached the top of the "Breakout Games" of Usae UK.

Also in the ranking 'DOP 2: Delete One Part' and 'iPhone Case DIY'.

And it's a real case of 'Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!'

launched on March 25, which in just four days reached 21 million downloads.
