Dorit Matzkin was born in 1981 in Kfar Saba.

She grew up and was educated in the city, was smiling and cheerful, kind-hearted and excelled in her studies.

The teachers also remember her smile.

She was considered a playful girl, was diligent and knew how to best combine studies, family and friends, between the pleasures of life and their chores.

During high school she was one of the most prominent in the school, and developed great ambitions for the future.

She completed a course for counselors for distressed youth, assisted them and also helped students who had difficulty in their studies.

Each encounter brought a smile to her face, satisfaction from giving to others.

Dorit enlisted in the IDF at the end of February 2000, and volunteered to serve in the Border Police

. She is survived by parents, two brothers and a sister.

"My dear daughter, rest on your bed in peace and tranquility," her father praised her, "until time meets us again somewhere."

Seek meaning, and friends

Suddenly a phone rings from one of the bags in the helicopter.

Time stopped.

Everyone is silent and starts crying

The "Recipe with Memory" project seeks to commemorate the fallen and allow participants to get to know their story through cooking their favorite recipes.

The project, founded about six years ago by Eden Kohli, invites surfers from Israel and the world to actively and excitingly connect to stories, photos and food.

As part of it, meetings are held in which a favorite dish of IDF space is cooked or a victim of hostilities who has not returned home to eat it, where they taste and share photos, stories, videos, and talk about the person behind the dish, and his family.

"This moment, where you taste a dish you cooked yourself, and a moment before you read about the space and the story behind that dish, is a very exciting and very significant moment," Kohli described. Through memories. "

Stories of the Fallen, and other recipes, can be found on the "Recipe with Memory" website.
