Audrey Fleurot, Julien Clerc, Stéphane Bern ... their favorites for living well confined

2021-04-13T08:19:59.136Z

As the school holidays begin and the third confinement continues, nine artists advise us of books, films

For the second year in a row, the April school holidays will be confined.

No movement beyond 10 km, no gathering of more than six people and respecting barrier gestures: the perfect opportunity to continue having fun from home.

Authors, singers, actors and journalists reveal to us their cultural favorites of the moment.

"I read

Marie-Claire

to my teenagers"

Marie Desplechin, youth author

“There are two teens aged 13 and 16 at home who don't read at all,” says youth author Marie Desplechin.

I read books to them out loud, that's the only way, and it works with the fire of God.

People used to do it a lot.

Reading can be a collective activity.

My dad did it pretty late with me and I loved it.

I read in the evening for about an hour with them.

They really liked

Marie-Claire

by Marguerite Audoux, (1863-1937), an autobiographical story which received the Prix Femina in 1910, and whose title, inspired that of the magazine

Marie Claire

, which I discovered a long time ago in a library I believe, and which I have reread several times.

In the 19th century, there are female authors, but poor women, apart from her, not many ... She lost her mother very quickly, and her father was a drunkard.

The little girl was placed in a religious institution, in the Cher, then as a shepherdess.

She took care of the animals and it was there, with people who knew how to welcome her, that she discovered reading.

At the end of the book, she goes for the first time to Paris, where she becomes a seamstress.

His writing is very clear, we can see the paintings.

It's not someone famous, but read it, really.

"

“Marie-Claire”

, by Marguerite Audoux, Grasset pocket, Les cahiers rouge collection, 214 pages, 8 euros.

"I can't do without

Historiettes

"

Stéphane Bern, journalist and host

Stéphane Bern recommends two historical books.

LP / Olivier Lejeune

On his bedside table, Stéphane Bern has kept two books for a long time: “The Memories of Saint-Simon” by the Duke of Saint-Simon (1675-1755), “paparazzi” of the Sun King's entourage, and the lesser known “ Historiettes ”by Tallemant des Réaux (1619-1692).

“The two are in the same vein.

They chronicle the backstage of their time, show behind the scenes.

It's deliciously nasty, tangy.

Tallement des Réaux is a real ringworm: in comparison, Saint-Simon is a nice guy… It is pecked.

There is a coffee machine gossip side that amuses me a lot.

It also enlightens me on certain historical figures, but also on human nature.

No one would dare write things like that today, for fear of lawsuits.

It is perhaps thanks to them that I spend less the shine brush than at one time.

"

“The Memories of Saint-Simon”

by the Duke of Saint-Simon.

“Historiettes”

by Tallemant des Réaux, Folio editions, 928 pages, 14.10 euros.

"I repaired myself with

Take care of you

"

Nora Hamzawi, comedian and actress

“I discovered

Take care of you

by Sophie Calle in 2010, in the middle of a romantic breakup,” explains Nora Hamzawi.

At the time, I worked in a department store during the day, and in the evening, I produced myself with a show that I played in empty rooms, or almost.

I had the feeling that my heartache would prevent me forever from laughing, moving forward, seeing clearly or being loved again, in short, the deep depression.

And then, on the advice of a friend, I looked at Sophie Calle's work, and more particularly this book, and I was fascinated by the possibility of transforming an injury into an object of art.

In this book, the artist has a letter of rupture that she receives, by 107 women (journalist, publicist, sex therapist, teenager, etc.), to understand, and to repair herself.

It is a book that gives strength, which speaks of sorority and also of the refusal to be a victim.

At the moment, I often think back to this work to remind myself that instead of going through the situation, I have to try to do something with it.

"

“Take care of yourself”

by Sophie Calle, 408 pages, Actes Sud editions, 80.20 euros.

"I'll never forget

We just dreamed of freedom

"

Virginie Grimaldi, author

"Several years ago, I discovered" We just dreamed of freedom "by Henri Lœvenbruck, says the author of" And that only the sweet moments last ".

One of my biggest literary slaps.

We find ourselves in the shoes of Bohem, a kid born under the stars, passionate about motorcycles and in love with independence.

From the first lines, I rode a bike in the middle of the arid plains, my eyes riveted on the horizon, the wind in my hair.

It's not a book, it's a journey, a hymn to freedom, which we miss so much at the moment.

It is a story of chains that we break, in order to meet ourselves.

It's a story of friendship, emancipation, choice, dreams that we follow at all costs.

I laughed, I was afraid, I vibrated, I cried.

I will never forget Bohem, like everyone who crossed paths with him.

“We were just dreaming of freedom”

by Henri Loevenbruck, Flammarion editions, 432 pages, 21 euros.

"I'm addicted to

Lovecraft Country

"

Audrey Fleurot, actress

Actress Audrey Fleurot (here in 2020) recommends the “Lovecraft Country” series on OCS.

LP / Philippe de Poulpiquet

"I recently discovered, thanks to my lover," Lovecraft Country "on OCS, an exciting series embodied mainly by black actors who offer themselves the luxury of changing their look with each episode, rejoices Audrey Fleurot.

It takes place in the United States in the 1950s and talks about segregation from a point of view that we are not used to seeing, which goes into the fantastic.

There is a crazy freedom, an amazing aesthetic and she is unlike anything else.

It is totally addictive.

"

Lovecraft Country”

, American series by Misha Green and Matt Ruff.

Season 1, ten episodes on OCS.

"I have read

On the Black Roads

twice in a row

"

Gaëtan Roussel, singer and composer

“I remember the release of

On the Black Roads

on October 13, 2016, I went to buy it on my birthday,” recalls the singer, who has just released a new album.

And I read it twice in a row.

I like Sylvain Tesson's pen and his gaze, especially in his walking journals.

I, too, walk when I write my songs and as in his story, I know on the road a mixture of daily routine and surprises.

I also like his idea of cartography.

When I was a kid, I spent my life reading IGN maps and seeing what it was like for real.

The black paths are the crossroads in France, but also in us, the back alleys.

Shard makes us travel and think without teaching us a lesson.

It gives the taste to observe the landscapes.

I, who cycle and climb Mont Ventoux every year, no longer look at it the same way.

"

“On the black roads”

by Sylvain Tesson, Poche, 170 pages, 6.90 euros.

"I think back to my hero Spartacus"

Julien Clerc, singer and composer

Julien Clerc

Julien Clerc has just released a new album entitled "Terrien".

LP / Fred Dugit

“From my first interviews, when I was asked who my hero was, I systematically answered Spartacus, remembers Julien Clerc.

Because this film was about the slave revolt.

And I loved Kirk Douglas, an actor with often ambiguous roles, who not only played Spartacus, but also produced the film.

I understood why I had loved him so much when I later read Kirk Douglas's book, in which he recounts the filming in the middle of McCarthyism.

In fact, it was as epic behind the scenes as it was on screen.

He was swindled by his partner, spent his time confronting Stanley Kubrick, the director, they even went to see a shrink together, Laurence Olivier divorced Vivien Leigh, the budget was multiplied by five.

Spartacus blew up the lives of everyone who did.

And the book is as exciting as the movie.

"

“Spartacus”

, film by Stanley Kubrick, 1960, 3:18.

“I am Spartacus”

, book by Kirk Douglas, 2013, Capricci editions, 192 pages.

"I laugh and I cry with

It's a sin

"

Leïla Kaddour, journalist and presenter of 13h00 de France 2 on weekends

"For the serious phobes of which I am part, too jealous of the time spent in front of a screen, rest assured," It's a sin "lasts only five episodes, warns the journalist from France 2. I set the scene for you: furious London and festive 80s, sleepless nights, fleeting love affairs, friendship without barrier gestures… Imagine a roommate with a bunch of gay boys who are discovering the capital and who can finally experience their sexuality in broad daylight.

A choral series you will hope the characters become your best friends, whose soundtrack makes you want to brave curfew.

Richie, Colin, Roscoe, Ash and, in the middle, a girl, Jill.

She is the first to take seriously this virus which is wreaking havoc within the homosexual community.

It's a sin

, it's the story of a filth, AIDS, a saga over ten years, where you will laugh, also cry without sinking into pathos.

It's a sin

is also the story of the indifference in which these men were allowed to die.

This series is masterful in every way.

"

“It's a sin”

, series available on MyCanal.

"I hallucinated on each page of the

Guide to spiritual awakening

"

Harry Roselmack, journalist and presenter of "Seven to Eight"

“The meeting was very complicated!

This book, I received it as a gift three years ago.

The mention

Spiritual Awakening Guide

on the cover did not thrill me.

I put it aside.

And then I started to read it.

More out of respect for the person who gave it to me than out of curiosity.

In reality, I hallucinated almost every page in the face of a concentration of revelations, all the more spectacular because they are there, just under the blinding and deafening surface of everyday life.

But my story with him is not over!

Carrying it around, I lost it.

By the false chances created by convergences, it was offered to me again by another of my peers.

Today

Eckhart Tolle's

Power of the Present Moment

is one of the most beautiful things I can offer and share with you.

"

"The power of the present moment"
