(ANSA) - MILAN, APRIL 13 - Life imprisonment has been confirmed for Leonardo Cazzaniga, the former head of the emergency room of Saronnor held responsible for a series of murders, including of hospitalized patients.
This was decided by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Milan who acquitted him in 3 cases out of 13. The judges essentially accepted the request made by the substitute pg Nunzia Ciaravolo.
There are 10 murders for which the former primary's conviction was confirmed and three for which he was acquitted.
The Court of Appeal of Milan also confirmed the day-to-day isolation for three years against the former primary and declared that there was no need to proceed by prescription in the face of four doctors of the hospital commission, called to evaluate the work of Cazzaniga and that in the first instance they had been sentenced to two years and six months for aiding and abetting.
In acquitting Cazzaniga for the deaths of three patients, the Court revoked the civil rulings against their family members.
"We will go and see the reasons to see the reasoning of the judges, we are not satisfied and we will certainly appeal to the Supreme Court", said Andrea Pezzangora, defender of the former primary along with the lawyer Ennio Buffoli.
Asst Valle Olona also condemned as civilian responsible.
