Heino continues to advertise his appearance in the Düsseldorf Tonhalle as a "German recital".

The dispute between the singer and the Tonhalle is apparently settled after Lord Mayor Stephan Keller (CDU) intervened.

In a phone call, Keller assured Heino that he would be allowed to advertise his concert as planned.

A city spokeswoman announced on Tuesday.

The Tonhalle had announced that it was bothered by the "somewhat tumbling subtitle" and wanted to adhere to a municipal guideline to which one was bound: "Urban spaces are not a place for agitation."

That's why they didn't want to advertise the gig planned for October 8th themselves, but it could take place.

Heino's manager Helmut Werner defended the singer against the allegations and received encouragement from Düsseldorf's mayor.

"I do not see any nationalistic or similar tendencies in Heino's poster and do not share the criticism of it," Keller announced on Monday evening.

That is why he had discussed with the Tonhalle director that Heino's tour posters would be put up in the Tonhalle.

This also applies to advertising on the Tonhalle's homepage and in the programs, the city spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

"We are very happy about it and not resentful," said Heino's manager Helmut Werner of the German press agency.

“The discussion was very important.

We must not leave the word “German” to the right-wing populists and not use it as a hate speech.

Heino has therefore received a huge amount of support and is looking forward to the concert in his hometown.

Werner had defended Heino against criticism.

"What absurd ideas do you have to have to be bothered by the word 'German'?" Says Werner.

In an interview in 2019, the singer even spoke out in favor of a ban on the AfD.

Heino hit the headlines in 2018 when he gave the NRW home minister a collection of songs that included titles from the “SS songbook”.

In the years before, Heino was accused of having an uncritical attitude towards right-wing songs.
