(ANSA) - BEIJING, APRIL 13 - Joshua Wong was sentenced to 4 months in prison for an unauthorized demonstration held in Hong Kong in October 2019 and for violating the law against the use of masks in protests. Wong, 24 and a well-known face of the former colony's pro-democracy activists, is among the 47 people accused of violating the national security law imposed by Beijing on the city.
The activist, pleading guilty to both counts, is serving a sentence of 13 and a half months in prison, again due to an illegal demonstration in June 2019, as part of the anti-government and pro-reform protests. (HANDLE).
