At least
six people died and four were injured
after a violent head-on collision between an ambulance and a car in the province of La Rioja.
The incident occurred on Monday night, before 10 p.m., on National Route 38, about 10 kilometers from the provincial capital.
Local media reported that Volunteer Firefighters of the city of La Rioja, Police Firefighters and the Emergency Service SEM 107 worked at the site to carry out the removal of the victims from the place, including minors.
The Chief of Police, Commissioner Roque Jaime, reported that around 9:45 p.m. the accident occurred in which
a gray car hit an ambulance from the province of Córdoba
.
“As a result of the violence of the impact, there are six people without life, and four were transferred to the Vera Barros Hospital and the Hospital de la Madre y el Niño.
There were four people in the ambulance and five or six people in the car ”, explained the commissioner.
The injured were transferred to the Enrique Vera Barros Hospital and the Mother and Child Hospital for more complex care.
Jaime said: “We cannot give more data.
The Technical Police works instead.
At the moment we do not have identities or hypotheses about the accident ”.
