Third race of the 2021 season and 200th grand prix in the history of the Sky Racing Team VR46, Sunday, for Luca Marini and the Ducati of the Sky VR46 Avintia on the very special Portimao track.
Among the violent Portuguese ups and downs - where he got on the podium in Moto2 in November 2020 - Marini continues the approach to the new category. The young Italian driver comes from two races in which he did not collect points, but he showed himself and reached the finish line on both occasions. "It will be an interesting weekend: for the first time I will ride with the Motogp on a track that is not Qatar. We will start from the Losail base with the aim of making another small step on the last part in insertion and on the front, then I will have to concentrate on learning the lines, trajectories and braking points of the track as quickly as possible. There will also be something to be done on the tires, compared to Qatar, the choice here will be less obvious between hard, soft and medium. I like the track a lot and I am curious to see how it will go ".
