Due to the pandemic, Hollywood's most prestigious night is being held this year at Union Station, a historic train station in central Los Angeles, on April 25, an unusually late date for film awards season.
The organizers of the ceremony on Monday promised in a statement
"a truly galactic areopagus of stars"
, so dazzling that
"sunglasses may be necessary"
.
Avoid a pajama ceremony
They want to limit as much as possible the interventions via the internet which have aroused criticism and disappointment during other ceremonies upset by the coronavirus.
Especially during the Golden Globes in late February, where stars appeared in jogging or pajamas to receive their rewards by videoconference.
Alongside Harrison Ford and Reese Witherspoon, we will find, to present the Oscars in flesh and blood, the winners of the 2020 edition, such as Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger and Laura Dern, as well as the South- Korean Bong Joon-ho, crowned for his film
Parasite
, best feature film.

Thanks to a clear improvement in the health situation, notably enabled by the rise in vaccinations, California is now accelerating the resumption of its economic and cultural activities.

The Oscar night will be directed for the sixth time by Glenn Weiss, a recognized expert in this type of event, with Steven Soderbergh, director of the film
Contagion, in production
.
