ANCONA - The Marches also focus on so-called 'work' tourism, linked to smart working and the possibility of working remotely, perhaps during a few days spent in historic villages.
This was stated by the president of the Marche Region Francesco Acquaroli, who held the delegation to tourism for himself, during the online event "Resilience and innovation: the Marche model", second appointment with "The economy of Italy: restarting from businesses "live on Corriere.it.
"This trend could be an additional resource - he explained - that's why we are thinking about digital villages".
The historic villages of the Marche hills, he recalled, are at the center of the project of a tourist circuit "to be built in a circular manner" also for the purpose of seasonal adjustment and overcoming the gap between the hinterland ("also penalized by the earthquake") and the coast: "in the Marche in 35-40 minutes you can go from the Apennines to the sea", enjoying the variety of attractive elements that can be found: "landscape, cultural heritage, food and wine".
Acquaroli recalled the "penalty represented by the seismic crater and delays in reconstruction, which makes it impossible even to imagine investments in infrastructure, economy and tourism. Today we have an appointment with some institutional offices (the Minister of Regional Affairs Marisastella Gelmini, visiting the Marche , ed) and we will talk about this ".
Also in the tourism sector, in addition to seasonal adjustment, there is also the objective of recovering foreign visitors, especially from northern and eastern Europe ": this is also why a bill was passed for the creation of a regional tourism agency. "We strongly believe in the potential of our territory - said the governor - even if we do not have a strong attractive element such as Rome for Lazio, Florence for Toscane or Venice for Veneto.
We focus on our many excellences: Rossini, Leopardi, Raffaello, the sea, the mountains, cultural heritage, food and wine, the landscape ".
