POLITICAL THRILLER.

Daniel Radcliffe's Great Escape

At 9:05 p.m. on Canal +.

It's been ten years since he was done with the character of Harry Potter and since then Daniel Radcliffe has repeatedly proven that he can play something else, and even many other things.

The proof is with "Escape from Pretoria", a new film broadcast this evening on Canal +.

Unrecognizable, the 31-year-old actor plays Tim Jenkin, a South African anti-apartheid activist who was arrested in 1978 with one of his comrades, Stephen, and thrown in a cell in the terrible political prison of Pretoria.

A prison in which the guards, racists and torturers, made life difficult for black and white prisoners, and from which no one had ever escaped.

But Tim and Stephen, with the help of another inmate, Leonard, polish for months a complex escape plan that they will have to repeat every night, based on the manufacture of wooden keys to open the dozen. doors that separate their cells from the exit ...

This true story has been remarkably staged for this very realistic film, which unfolds a permanent suspense, at times bordering on sustainable as it puts the nerves of its heroes - and spectators - to the test.

A very beautiful script and production work supported by the precise and accurate interpretation of Daniel Radcliffe.

Thin, hidden behind his glasses with thick glasses, the actor plays in a remarkable way this ingenious man who decided that nothing would stop him in his daring project, even if it means braving all the dangers to achieve it.

A great compositional role for a great movie.

COMEDY.

Bright Amanda

Vincent Lacoste and Isaure Multrier play a young man and his niece in a charming film.

Pyramid

At 8:55 p.m., in Arte.

David is a somewhat dreamy “teenager”, still marked by the mourning of his father and who has not yet really taken the plunge into working life.

Her sister, Sandrine, sometimes entrusts her with her daughter, Amanda, 7, who is the very image of the happiness of living.

Single, David meets Léna.

But one day, everything changes ...

"Amanda" is the very example of a film that holds its course with the ban on doing too much, no matter what turn things take.

Vincent Lacoste justifies every scene - he manages to make people cry with a few minutes devoted to a tennis match!

- in this feature film which focuses its attention on the sets from start to finish.

This contemplative dimension, in which we can imagine a true love for Paris, tells of a saving undertaking of reconstruction which integrates each of the characters.

Others would have knitted a jacquard sweater with more or less skill.

Here, the supporting roles take on an immediate density, the budding love story holds upright without crutches.

"Amanda" tells how you can only expect miracles from yourself.

With this second episode of the Blue Sky studios saga, we are delighted to find the heroes who made us melt.

They will come across horrible dinosaurs freed from the waters, but also on a nice colony of opossums, where Eddie, a female mammoth including Manny, who discovers that he is not the only one of her kind in life, will quickly appreciate the charms.

Diego, him, must face his fear of water and Sid finds himself enthroned god of the sloths!

The icing on the cake: Scrat is no longer just a guest star, he is really part of this story with its graphics as neat as ever.

Bugs in the hair to make children and adults laugh.

CONCERT.

The Cure's last Parisian mass

An hour with The Cure and a Robert Smith in great shape for the best of their concert at Rock en Seine in 2019. Nathalie Guyon

At 9 p.m. on Culturebox.

Since 2003, the faithful of the Rock en Seine festival had rarely seen such a huge and compact crowd, even in front of a headliner.

When The Cure hit the track at nightfall on August 23, 2019, the Saint-Cloud park was covered by at least 35,000 fans.

Unless you have waited an hour at the foot of the main stage, we are witnessing this new wave high mass from afar, a little frustrated to only see it, but happy to hear this old cult group (it is celebrating this summer - his 40 years of activity and the 30 years of “Disintegration”, one of his major albums) at its best.

Fortunately, this memorable concert was filmed.

Culturebox broadcasts one hour over 2:20 and logically favors hits ("In Between Days", "Just Like Heaven", "Shake Dog Shake", "Friday I'm In Love", "Boys Don't Cry").

But we are not going to sulk our pleasure in front of such a masterful performance.

The iconic singer, Robert Smith, is very vocal, friendly and funny, the group plays united, the sound is powerful and massive, the audience can only be in heaven.

Like us, weaned from concerts for a year, in front of our screen.
