This Wednesday, after the announcement by President Alberto Fernández, there were cacerolazos in various parts of the City.

And discontent began to grow rapidly on social media.

One of the main criticisms was the

suspension of classes

.

That claim was also reflected in a campaign, which in 12 hours already collected

almost 200,000 signatures

.

Created shortly after Fernández's speech, the petition on the Change.org platform is entitled

"No to the closing of classes in 2021", it was

promoted by Angeles Alonso Saavedra and is addressed to the president, the Buenos Aires head of government and the Buenos Aires governor.

This Thursday around 10 in the morning it

already exceeded 191,000 signatures and kept adding

.

"Another year without classes? Another year without smiles, without learning, with depressed children, with empty classrooms ... A screen does not replace the dust of the chalk, the happiness of the recess bell, the stories of the sir, "says the text.

He also highlights the

inequalities of virtuality

: "A screen does not teach me; not all boys have access to the Internet. Not all boys have 40 minutes of class on Zoom. Virtual education is not for everyone."

The promoter of the petition, who is a mother and speech therapist specializing in neuroliguistics, remarks that "Schools are NOT a source of contagion, but the lack of education is a FOCUS of ignorance !!!"

and closes:

"NO to closed schools, YES to the right to EDUCATION"

.

Alonso Saavedra lives in Capital and works with children with disabilities.

He fears for the impact on the children of this new interruption of classes in classrooms and all kinds of educational spaces.

He warns that the consequences of not being present last year were very serious.

“It is true that you have to take care of your health;

education is also health

”, he says.

Parents march

From Parents Organized, the network of self-convened parents that last year mobilized very actively to return to face-to-face classes, called for

a march this Friday at 5

p.m. at the Pizzurno Palace.

"Tomorrow we march, join and call to defend schools and the education of children and young people," they point out in their Twitter account "in the face of surprising measures that go against evidence and the statements of the Ministers of Education and Health."

The call closes with the hashtag

#NoCierrenLasEscuelas

.
