After winning over audiences with his version of Snyder's Cut of the Justice League on March 18, the filmmaker returns with a horrified feature film

For his next film, Zack Snyder has decided to go back to his first passion for the living dead and develop a brand new franchise on his own.

Indeed, the director was already at the origin of The Army of the Dead (Dawn of The Dead in VO), remake of 2004 inspired by the work of George A. Romero.

This time, the filmmaker has chosen to unleash his hordes of zombies on Dave Bautista, the former wrestler who notably plays Drax in the various Guardians of the Galaxy opuses.

By his side, you will also find Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine and the special children), Ana de la Reguera and Omari Hardwick (Power), Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy), Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead) or even Hiroyuki Sanada ( 47 Ronin).

But the filmmaker does not intend to stop with this feature film.

Army of the Dead will actually mark the beginning of a whole new franchise, which will feature at least one other movie as well as a series

.

The latter, entitled Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, will also focus on the character played by Dave Bautista.

Zack Snyders will direct the first two episodes of this spin-off, which should also air on Netflix.

The prequel named Army of Thieves is already in post-production.

For his realization, Zack Snyder gave way to one of the actors of Army of the Dead: Matthias Schweighöfer.

If the French Nora Arnezeder (Close security, Riviera) is part of the cast of Army of the Dead, Jonathan Cohen (Family Business, La Flamme) should appear in Army of Thieves.
