" Hello my friends.

I will meet you in Marseille on June 10 for our Unzipped exhibition at the Orange Vélodrome.

You will love !

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, in person and in French, announced the news Thursday at a virtual press conference.

The major exhibition created in 2013 in London will stop over from June 10 to September 5 in Marseille and more precisely in the stadium which hosted the British group three times, in 1990, 2003 and 2018. France is the fourth country visited after the England, the United States and Australia.

This exhibition will occupy 2,000 m2 in the heart of the stadium's lounges, which have been redeveloped into a vast platform, with a stroll through thirteen spaces: the shabby London apartment of Edith Grove which saw the birth of the Stones, the Olympic studio in London, where they have recorded “Sympathy For The Devil” in front of Jean-Luc Godard's camera, the story of their album covers and their logo, their legendary double album “Exile On Main Street” recorded in Villefranche, near Marseille, their concert in Havana in 2016, which will close the visit in majesty and in quadraphony.

More than 400 objects from the musicians' personal collection, models of stage sets, stage and city costumes, instruments, etc. will be presented there.

"One of the rare times that Mick Jagger was injured on stage"

The exhibition changed title from "Exhibitionism" to "Unzipped", a reference to their album "Sticky Fingers" and its famous fly, and also evolved in its presentation.

“It is much more immersive and interactive,” explains Philippe Maneuver, who sponsors it.

There are a few objects related to France, such as the list of songs performed by Ronnie Wood during their last concert in Marseille and in France.

The Stones have strong ties with Marseille, where they first played in 1967 at Salle Vallier.

It is also one of the rare times that Mick Jagger was injured on stage.

A fan sent him a chair and he had to be sewn up in the hospital.

"

The organizers expect no less than 200,000 visitors over 90 days.

The ticket office opens this Thursday.

Tickets are 25 euros (adults), 19 euros (12-25 years) and 15 euros (6-11 years).

The exhibition will be open Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a Friday night until 10 p.m.

"To comply with the health rules related to Covid, access will be limited to 200 people at the same time," says the director of major projects at the Vélodrome stadium, Martin d'Argenlieu.

The reservation will therefore be made on time slots.

"There will be no crowds and we will therefore be able to visit the exhibition in the best conditions", adds Philippe Maneuver.

"The rebels chose a rebellious city"

Why did the Stones choose Marseille and not Paris?

"The rebels have chosen a rebellious city, which they know well," replied Martin d'Argenlieu, "super proud" to have succeeded in attracting this exhibition, intended to travel to the largest capitals.

We have been working on this project for over a year and it will do good in Marseille.

We will create the equivalent of 100 full-time jobs for three months, not to mention the assembly which will take an additional month… ”

But Mick Jagger, who has just released a new title, and the Stones, who are preparing a new album, will they inaugurate or visit “Unzipped”?

“They did not say no to our invitation, boot in touch the director of major projects of the stadium of the Olympique de Marseille.

Mick Jagger knows the stadium well, he has already been there as a spectator during Euro football.
