He had not been absent from work for 31 years - but because of his corona infection, Günther Jauch has to remain in quarantine. In the RTL show "Because they don't know what's happening," he should actually have been there, the presenter was briefly switched on live on Saturday evening. He told his colleagues Thomas Gottschalk and Barbara Schöneberger about his state of health: "In principle, I'm fine too." However, the doctor told him that he had not yet survived the infection. "These virus values are bad for me - even after a new test." He was therefore told: "We will not let you out there, you are no longer allowed to go outside the front door for the foreseeable future."
It now takes "a few days" before he can take the next test. Until then, patience is required. The 64-year-old also explained that he did not know whether he could be on the show next Saturday. But he has a little hope. As in the past week, eight celebrities came to the show instead of Jauch, who covered their faces with a Jauch photo and only gradually revealed them. In the past week, eight women started as Jauch replacements.
On Wednesday evening Jauch had given information about the course of his illness to "Stern TV".
At this point he was already saying that he was "on the mend".
He spoke of a "medium course", suffering from pain in the limbs, headaches, coughs and runny nose.
This is no comparison with people who have had problems with their lungs.
Nevertheless, he "understood firsthand" that the disease should be taken seriously.
