INDIA

- For the sixth consecutive day in India, over 200 thousand new cases of coronavirus have been registered in 24 hours.

The Guardian reports it.

In the last few weeks alone, the continent has reported a record number of 1.59 million infected.

Victims also increased, 1,761 in the last 24 hours, for a total of 180,530.

ARGENTINA

- An aircraft of the Aerolineas Argentinas company, coming from Moscow, landed last night in Buenos Aires carrying a load of 800,000 doses of Russian Sputnik V vaccine. This was reported by the news agency Telam.

This arrival at Ezeiza International Airport followed another KLM company 24 hours with 799,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, purchased by the Argentine government through the World Health Organization's (WHO) Covax system.

Argentine health authorities have announced that, also thanks to 12 return flights in Russia, Argentina has had almost nine million doses overall since the vaccination campaign began last December.

NEW ZELAND

- an employee of the Auckland airport tested positive for Covid-19 24 hours after the resumption of travel between New Zealand and Australia. The BBC reports it. The case, however, does not seem to be connected to the 'bubble' of travel between the two countries, which is why flights with Australia were not suspended and thousands of passengers flew between the two nations yesterday for the first time in more than a year. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern explained that the person infected with the coronavirus was cleaning planes from "high-risk countries". The man had been vaccinated. Australia and New Zealand closed their borders in March 2020. Since October, travelers from New Zealand have been allowed to enter almost all Australian states without quarantine.Under the new travel rules between the two countries, those who move must have spent at least 14 days either in Australia or New Zealand and must not have any symptoms of Covid.
