Journalist Daniel Muchnik died in the last hours at the age of 81.
He had a long career and received several awards.
Born in Diamante, in the province of Entre Ríos, he worked as a writer and university teacher, where he held a degree in History.
His profession as a journalist started back in 1963 in
La Segunda
.
Towards the middle of the 1960s he held different positions in the monthly magazine and then weekly
Panorama
and before that in the magazine
7 Días,
when it appeared as a supplement in the mythical newspaper
La Razón
.
Later he worked in the weekly El Economista and in the newspaper La Opinion.
He was head of the Economy Section of the Télam agency.
He was also a columnist specialized in economics for
Clarín
,
where he held the position during the 1976 and 1992 period.
He was also a professor at the Universities of Palermo, Belgrano and the postgraduate studies in Economic Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires.

Currently, Muchnik was a permanent columnist on the

wrote sporadically in other media such as

.
The well-known teacher and journalist was also a radio columnist in the "Open Window" program, which is broadcast on Radio
Millenium
.
He was the author of 24 books on different topics that ranged from the economic analysis of different times to current historical and anthropological events.
In addition, he was in charge of different publishers including Planeta (Ariel label), Sudamericana, Edhasa, Norma / Kapeluz, El Ateneo and the Spanish Belacqua.
In his long career, Muchnik received two Konex Awards: the first in 1987 for Communication and the other, Platinum, in the Economic Analysis Category, in 2007. He was also a member of a jury of notables in 1997 and also in 2008.
