Former US Vice President Walter Mondale has died at the age of 93.
The American media reported it.
Mondale was the vice president of Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981. In 1984 he attempted the race for the White House but lost to Ronald Reagan, who conquered 49 states.
Mondale, however, entered history for the choice of Geraldine Ferraro as his deputy: it was the first time that a candidate of one of the major parties chose a woman as a running mate.
