The US composer Jim Steinman, who wrote hits for musicians like Meat Loaf, Celine Dion and Bonnie Tyler, is dead. Forensic medicine in the US state of Connecticut confirmed the death on Tuesday, US media unanimously reported.
Accordingly, Steinman died on Monday at the age of 73.
The cause of death was initially not known, as the "Rolling Stone" and "Variety" reported.

Steinman became famous for working with Meat Loaf before he worked with Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion and the Sisters Of Mercy.
During the rehearsals for the musical "More Than You Deserve", the lyricist, composer and music producer Steinman met Meat Loaf in the early 1970s.
Together they produced the hit album "Bat Out Of Hell" (1977), which sold millions of copies.
In 1997 Steinman won a Grammy trophy for his work on the album "Falling into You" by Celine Dion.
In the same year the musical »Dance of the Vampires« premiered.
The rock-operatic music for the musical based on Roman Polanski's film of the same name came from Steinman.
He is also working with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musical "Whistle Down the Wind".
Steinman recently released the joint album »Braver Than We Are« (2016) with Meat Loaf.
