In the midst of the second wave of coronavirus in the country and due to the increase in cases, the City of Buenos Aires registered a

record of occupation of intensive care beds in

the public system.

The Buenos Aires health portfolio reported that

there are 323 employed out of a total of 450

available for patients with covid-19 in public hospitals.

It is about 71.1%.

In the last 24 hours, 20 seriously ill patients were added and the average age of hospitalized patients is

53 years

.

In this way, the occupation of beds with seriously ill patients with coronavirus 

exceeded the record registered on August 13

with 69% (312).


In moderate cases, the occupancy is 48.3% (725 out of 1,500 available) and in mild cases, 9.9% (496 out of 5,000).

For its part, the national health portfolio reported this Wednesday that there are 4,492 hospitalized in intensive care units (126 more than on Tuesday), with a percentage of occupancy of adult beds of 65.5% in the country and 75.4% in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires (AMBA).

A total of 2,904 new cases and 32 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in the City, which raised the number of infected to 314,481 and the number of deaths in the district to 7,699 since the arrival of the pandemic.

In the daily part of the health situation, the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health also specified that the fatality rate, that is, the percentage of deaths on positive diagnoses, was 2.45%.

The part of the Buenos Aires government this Thursday added that 2,760 patients were discharged yesterday, which adds 264,448 people recovered since the beginning of the pandemic.

The health system reported 2,185 new cases corresponding to non-residents in the City, with a cumulative total that reached 229,837 in addition to 21 deaths (2,510 cumulative) and 1,976 were discharged (197,389 cumulative).

Since the arrival of the pandemic in Argentina, in March of last year, a total of 3,015,524 swabs were carried out in the city of Buenos Aires, with an accumulated positivity rate (confirmed cases on tests performed) of 25.1% ;

while yesterday 23,824 swabs were performed, with a positivity of 26.3%.

On the other hand, it was reported that 126 new infected were notified in the popular neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, while 75 people were discharged and one deceased was registered.

The accumulated total of deaths in these conglomerates is 306, while the number of people infected since March is 20,481, the accumulated discharges are 18,575 and the fatality rate is 1.49%.
