Rumors swirled about a curfew relaxation measure in effect.
Jean Castex, who held a press conference on health measures this Thursday, along with several ministers, finally announced that the curfew currently in force would be maintained "until further notice", at least until the mid-May.
As since March 18, everywhere in France, it will therefore be forbidden to leave your home, except for an overriding reason justified by a certificate, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
"We will see in mid-May, the next step, where the epidemic situation will be," said the Prime Minister, while specifying that there was "no automaticity to the lifting of the curfew, including included at this deadline ”(from mid-May).
A certificate always necessary
This measure has undergone several changes since it was put in place in the fall, going from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. and then to 6 p.m., before it was established last month at 7 p.m.
The executive also confirmed, during this press conference, that the 10 km rule would come to an end, allowing from May 3 to the French to travel between regions and throughout France without proof, in outside restricted hours in the evening and at night.
On March 1, President Emmanuel Macron indicated, about this health measure which lasts in time that it was necessary to "hold again, four to six weeks" before being able to alleviate it.
