In North Rhine-Westphalia, a total of 40 people were vaccinated, although according to the prioritization they would not have been up yet.
The crisis team of the Ennepe-Ruhr district decided to protect the employees of two vaccination centers, it said in a press release.
Accordingly, several people had gathered on Wednesday afternoon in front of two centers in Ennepetal and Schwelm.
They said they had heard on the radio that vaccinations would be carried out for the rest of the day without an appointment and outside of the prioritization.
When asked by the vaccination centers, the management of the crisis team decided to vaccinate a total of 40 people.
"In this way, the employees working on site should be protected," it said.
"In the last few days in particular, we at the vaccination center had to deal with aggressive citizens who were not entitled to vaccinations," said Michael Schäfer, head of the crisis team.
Leftovers for the pre-pushers
In addition, there were still enough vaccine doses left to "vaccinate these people in addition to those entitled to vaccination with an appointment and citizens who are on the reserve list."
In retrospect, the district administration admitted that the decision was well-intentioned, but wrong.
The prioritization levels should not have been disregarded.
It will not repeat itself, they said.
