Munich - The supermarket chain Edeka is calling back sausages in several federal states in northern Germany.

According to

Nordcenter

, the

reason for this is

that the meat factory in the markets in the north may contain

foreign metal objects

in individual sausages.

The group does not specify how large and in what quantity these foreign bodies can be.

The bratwursts were mainly sold in the Edeka * branches in the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Hamburg and in the north of Lower Saxony and parts of Brandenburg.

Customers who have purchased the product are advised not to consume it.

Instead, all those sausages - even without presenting the receipt - can be returned in the respective branches, as the company announced.

The purchase price will be fully refunded.

Edeka: recall of sausages due to risk of injury - this product is affected

The recalled sausages are specifically the grilled sausages of the brand “good and cheap” in 540 gram packs. All those sausages whose expiry date falls on April 22nd, 21st and is labeled with the lot number 210323 and the veterinary control number DE MV 11001 EG, can be affected.

emphasizes the health risk associated with products with foreign bodies. "Metallic foreign bodies, broken glass or glass splinters, wood and plastic splinters can lead to serious injuries in the mouth and throat as well as internal injuries or bleeding," writes the portal. “Consumers who own one of the affected articles should no longer use the affected products and bring them back to the trade.” More and more products - especially from the food sector - are being recalled *.
