A few months before the separation of Universal Music Group and its parent company Vivendi, the world number one in music is doing very well.
It is this activity that supports the 5% growth of the entire Vivendi group in the first quarter of 2021, to 3.9 billion euros.

Universal Music Group's turnover rose 9.4% to 1.8 billion euros, still driven by the tremendous growth of audio streaming.
New albums from King & Prince and Justin Bieber sold very well, and sales of The Weeknd, Ariana Grande and Pop Smoke continued to grow.
But in the fall of 2021, Universal Music Group will live its life independently and be listed in Amsterdam.
The Vivendi group will only be a reference shareholder with 20% of the capital, at the same level as the Chinese Tencent.

As for Canal +, Vivendi's second largest asset, the situation is calmer.
Turnover remained stable at 1.35 billion euros.
