A pot of fish patties in a red sauce served in the center of the table brings with it all the aromas, flavors and so special atmosphere of Friday.

Thus, alongside European classics and Mediterranean dishes, you can find a pot of juicy patties in a thick, rich red sauce that brings to the table the essence of the flavors from home, including fresh challah that must be dipped in the sauce.
Just before the weekend arrives, we asked Gabay to teach us how to make the wonderful pot of fish patties that would also fill our house with the magic it spreads.

Ingredients
For the fish patties:
1 kg fresh sea fish fillet, which likes clean skin and bones
1 egg
1 tablespoon bread crumbs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pinch finely chopped coriander
1 tablespoon sweet paprika
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
For the sauce:
10 ripe tomatoes, cut into quarters
2 green hot peppers, coarsely chopped
1 can of whole tomatoes
1 sweet red pepper, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 tablespoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
2-3 tablespoons olive oil

How do you make fish patties from a lovely restaurant?

How to prepare the patties:
Chop the fish fillet with a knife, add the rest of the patty ingredients and mix everything well in a large bowl.
Prepare patties weighing 40 grams each, and place in the refrigerator.

How to prepare the sauce: In
a large pot, heat olive oil, add the tomato quarters and the two types of peppers and fry for about 5 minutes.
3 Cut the peeled tomatoes from the can and add to the pot with the spices.
Pour water only until covered and cook for 15 minutes, partially covered.
4 Add the patties, cover and cook for another 10 minutes.

It is recommended to serve with fresh challah and tahini.
