The Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Fernán Quirós, provided details on the city's health situation in relation to the coronavirus contagion curve on Friday and assured that in the last seven days "it stopped growing" and that "it is practically stabilized."

"In the number of confirmed cases this week it is clearly seen that the curve has stopped growing, from that vertiginous rise in April, in the last 10 days, it is practically stabilized," Quirós explained in a press conference.

Although he described it as "good news", the minister warned that "it is not enough" because it

is necessary not only to "stabilize" but also to "descend."

The head of the Buenos Aires health portfolio reported that the "R" of the City is 1.03 and that they managed to lower "about 30% the lethality of all age groups."

And he added: "

The curve is practically horizontal

, we have stopped growing and we have to lower that number. The situation is difficult enough to need to lower the cases."

For this reason, he reinforced the advice to citizens during social and family gatherings in closed spaces: "That it is well ventilated, do not take off the chinstraps because it is the place where more infections are occurring. If you are going to meet someone try to be in an open space ".

The Minister of Health of the City of Buenos Aires, Fernán Quirós, affirmed that the curve of cases "has stopped growing" in the City.

And he insisted: "We have to make a huge effort these next two weeks to lower the contagion curve."

Although he clarified that it is not possible to do futurology and know "what is going to happen with this curve because it depends on the measures that are taken and the individual care of each Buenos Aires," he reported that in recent days "given the acceleration that the case curve,

the entire public and private system was asked to

postpone

operations

that could be postponed and that occupy hospital beds or intensive therapy ". And he clarified: "The rest of the care can continue, and today a provision of the ministry will come out clarifying, in detail, all this so that there are no doubts."

"If all of us from Buenos Aires decided at the same time during these next two weeks not to visit any person with whom we do not live, this curve would go down rapidly, but it is difficult to achieve that absolute synchrony," acknowledged Quirós.

Vaccination

"The 35 thousand vaccines that we have left are the ones that we are going to apply these days," said Quirós, and reported at a press conference that

"47.45% of the city's risk groups were vaccinated

with at least one dose." .

"The effectiveness with a single dose is very effective and has lowered your risk of getting seriously ill," he said.

And he reported: "We have vaccinated 373,462 older adults with at least one component. We have completed all 498 residences for the elderly and we are also with the home vaccination plan for those who call 147 and cannot leave their homes."
