Samir, Malason and especially Djibril, alias "the old one", are the masters of a discipline which has become an attraction of the Pyramids district, in Evry-Courcouronnes (Essonne). For nearly three years, in their free time, they have been kicking their soccer ball in the direction of a small skylight overlooking the local garbage can of a building in rue Jules Vallès. One day in April, Djibril, 44, came down to try his luck. He hits the perfect shot on his first attempt. Posted on social networks, the video of the celebration of his goal, to the applause and encouragement of his friends, goes viral.
“Here, the window brings together all the generations,” says Malason, 29, author of the famous video which has made millions of views.
"Children, teenagers, adults, even the elderly want to try their luck."
“The Pyramids have a bad reputation,” explains Djibril, “this challenge gives the neighborhood a different image.
It is not only delinquency, drugs or theft, ”says the man who has become the icon of“ the most famous window in Europe ”, but who ended his career.
"I can no longer try, it would be like asking Zidane to put on Real Madrid's studs again," he says in all humility.
