Accident site in Voerde (on Thursday): "Everyone is driving way too fast"

A hairdresser from Voerde on the Lower Rhine complains about the third serious car accident at her house, which is around a sharp bend.
"We have a nightmare behind us," said the 58-year-old now.
She is now planning to sell the house - also for other reasons.
On Thursday evening, according to the police, a 38-year-old man lost control of his car in the curve, hit a tree and then hit the wall of the house right next to the entrance.
The driver, who is said to have previously drunk alcohol, was seriously injured in a hospital, and his house and tree were damaged.
"Everyone is driving way too fast here!"
The house is right behind a railway underpass and a sharp left turn.
The speed limit on the road is 40, "but everyone is driving way too fast here," said the owner.
The police had to set up a stationary speed camera at the point, she demanded.
A long time ago a market trader lost his trailer in the curve, which had rammed the house.
About four years ago there was an accident very similar to that on Thursday evening, said the owner, who runs her hairdressing salon in the house.
At that time, the damage to the house was still laboriously repaired.
The house was old, she said, "no one could repair the current damage".
