Heard by an examining magistrate on Friday, Lola Montemaggi was indicted for the kidnapping of her daughter, Mia, and taken into custody

Mia's mother, Lola Montemaggi, instigator of her daughter's kidnapping, has been charged with "kidnapping of a 15-year-old minor in an organized gang" and "subtraction of a minor by ascendant out of the territory of the Republic", announced Friday the prosecutor of Nancy, François Pérain. The young woman of 28 was found on April 18 in a squat in Switzerland, after five days on the run. Mia was with her and was picked up "in good health" by her maternal grandmother who is in charge of her care. Extradited Friday, Lola Montemaggi was heard by an investigating judge before being indicted and placed in pre-trial detention. “During her statements, she did not wish to specify the conditions under which this kidnapping had been organized. On the other hand, she wanted to take responsibility for her act, justify it and legitimize it ”,said the Nancy prosecutor.

“She felt trapped, she felt lost, she felt unheard.

She did not make the right choice, she knows it, she understands it but today I believe that one should not add harm to the harm ”, reacted Stéphane Giuranna, lawyer of Lola Montemaggi estimating that the "Real fight" will be to "recover Mia in other jurisdictions".

Two other people in connection with the case were indicted on Friday: a French national nicknamed "Romeo", indicted for "aggravated kidnapping and criminal association" and a retiree nicknamed "Harmonie", indicted for "criminal association in connection with a crime ”and placed under judicial control.
