, equal to 89.5% of the school population.

The variability concerns the high schools but in any case there will be a significant increase compared to 6 million and 850 thousand students (80.5%) at school in the week that is ending.

The latest government provision provides that in the yellow and orange zone all elementary and middle school children will be among the schools from tomorrow, while for the high schools the presence will be at least 70% and up to 100%. In the red zone they will all be present up to the eighth grade, while in high school the activity in class will take place at least 50%. The problem that many high school headmasters complain about is being able to reconcile the presence of at least 20-25 children in the classroom (in some cases, especially in large cities, the numbers are even higher and the classrooms are often small) with the rules of the Technical-scientific committee on distancing and with the safety protocols signed in recent months.

In Naples, for example, not all high schools will bring almost all students back to the classroom; several high schools have decided to keep 50 percent of the students in attendance. Decision taken also by virtue of the ordinance issued by the President of the Region, Vincenzo De Luca, which allows school administrators to reach 50 percent of face-to-face teaching '' if the application of the guidelines of the Ministerial Decree n.39 / 2020 ''.
