From April 24th, stricter corona rules for salons will apply throughout Germany.
What customers can expect when visiting the hairdresser in the future.
With the amendment to the Infection Protection Act, the federal government introduced the so-called
federal emergency brake
.
If a district or an independent city exceeds an incidence of 100, stricter corona measures for businesses and public life should apply there.
The new version is intended to help slow the third wave of the corona pandemic.
Federal emergency brake: hairdressing salons do not have to close
The good news:

However, there are stricter rules for visiting the hairdresser * in order to prevent infections of customers and employees:
These corona rules apply to visits to the hairdresser when the federal emergency brake applies:
FFP2 masks:
All those present in the salon must wear an FFP2 mask or a comparable standard (e.g. standard KN95 / N95).
It is not clear whether medical mouth and nose protection (surgical mask) can be used as an alternative.
The Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade advises you to clarify this by contacting the local regulatory office, if necessary.
Obligatory test for customers:
If you want to keep an
appointment with the
hairdresser, you must present a negative corona test as a customer, which must not be older than 24 hours.

In order to show a negative corona test, hairdresser visitors have various options, as the hairdressing association reports:
PCR test in the corona test center:
The written or digital certificate of the negative result must not be older than 24 hours.
Rapid test in the Corona test center (against payment):
The written or digital certificate of the negative result must not be older than 24 hours.
Rapid test in the Corona test center (so-called citizen test, free of charge):
The written or digital certificate of the negative result must not be older than 24 hours.

whether a so

test (spit test) can be used
as an alternative and may have to be clarified by
contacting the local
regulatory office.
The changes that have now been made to the law apply
from Saturday, April 24th
and are limited to June 30th, 2021.
Corona test obligation also for salon operators
With the newly regulated Infection Protection Act, salon owners are also obliged
to offer
their employees
corona tests
twice a week
.
However, the implementation is voluntary, the employees are not obliged to test themselves for Covid-19.
