EXCLUSIVE. The king of swing and the famous imitator have imagined a show like "Old Scoundrels", to be discovered live and in streaming on

Finally, some good news! Failing to know with certainty the date of reopening of the theaters, we know that of the unique and unprecedented "live streaming" of Eddy Mitchell and Laurent Gerra. On Thursday May 27, live, the two friends will give “A credit and in stereo”, an explosive musical show, like “Vieilles Canailles” (the trio composed of Eddy Michell - Johnny Hallyday - Jacques Dutronc), where we will be able to hear hits from the king of swing, classics of French song and, of course, a few jokes. People will be able to purchase their ticket from their usual reseller just like any other show. They will receive a link, with a code, which will allow them to access it from their computer.

“It was Valery Zeitoun, with whom we co-produced Les Vieilles Canailles, who had the idea of bringing Laurent and me together,” explains Eddy Mitchell.

As we both know each other well and love each other a lot, we often congratulate each other, we're going to do it.

"" It's astonishing, admits the imitator.

We are more of the type to say no to everything and there, we said yes quite spontaneously.

"

Risen Gainsbourg

A nod to the event tour that brought together Halliday, Dutronc and Mitchell, the stage will recreate an imaginary bar, run by the comedian Chicandier.

“At the start, we wanted a real bar, something we haven't seen for a long time,” says Laurent Gerra.

But for technical questions, camera reversal, etc., we had to move around a room.

»It will be the theater of the Gymnase, in Paris (10th district), without an audience.

In this essentially musical show, Eddy Mitchell will perform his greatest hits. He promises us "No boogie woogie", "Mint water color", "the Bar du Lutetia" ... In all, 18 titles from his repertoire. Thanks to Laurent Gerra's talent as an imitator, we can also count on Gainsbourg's song “Vieille canaille” and the fictitious presence of Patrick Bruel, Enrico Macias or Francis Cabrel. The list of titles has not yet been finalized.

"We both like Charles Trénet, Henri Salvador ..." confides Laurent Gerra, who shares with Eddy the love of cinema, westerns and black films. "We put ideas on paper, a little scripted," continues the comedian. We are going to tell each other our story, without being pretentious, telling each other anecdotes. There is something that binds us together: when he started, Eddy made Bécaud songs. Me, the first Olympia I did, it was just after Gilbert Bécaud, the Olympia record holder. We're going to share little things like that. "

The opportunity to dive into memories, at the time when wounded lovers did not yet hum "Always a corner that reminds me".

“I started out as a dancing singer, as they say.

As they said, rather, corrects the former leader of the Black Socks.

I was imitating Eddie Constantine.

I will do that too.

"

Among their common references, we also find the crooner Dean Martin and "real people of spectacle, that I admire", judge Laurent Gerra, who still does not return from it.

When I was told:

Eddy said yes

, I was very, very happy.

He's a huge artist, a huge singer.

I'm lucky: I was born in Bourg-en-Bresse and I'm going to do a show with Eddy Mitchell.

"

"The trouillometer at zero"

The two friends have met several times since they met Michel Drucker a few years ago, always with pleasure. With the help of Johnny, they had the opportunity to do some duets. And the imitator already appeared on the albums "The Same Tribe" volumes 1 and 2, alongside, among others, Alain Souchon, Julien Clerc, Christophe or Renaud. This time, however, he admits to having "the fear meter at zero". “I'm very scared even though I'm not the usual nervous type. But Eddy told me that he did too and that it would go away when we set foot on stage, which is often the case. "

Thanks to the imitations of Laurent Gerra, the Prime Minister will invite himself on stage.

“The title,

A credit and in stereo

, I think it's very Castex, jokes the one we can hear every morning on RTL.

We will sprinkle the show with a little fantasy, of course.

I think the public is expecting this.

If they've got two bad guys for the price of one… We're not gonna just gag about the news, but I have a few in store.

Will we have the chance to one day see this show played in the flesh? Nothing is less sure. To the envy of Laurent Gerra - “we can dream, right? - Eddy Mitchell opposes a categorical "no". “It's completely

one shot

: one evening and then there you go. "

In the meantime, the two artists are multiplying the projects. Eddy Mitchell completes this Wednesday the shooting of “Un petit miracle”, a comedy by Sophie Boudre with Alice Pol and Régis Laspalès, and he hopes to record his new album, very country, at the end of June. “We were supposed to do it last year but, because of the Covid, we couldn't. I am bringing in American musicians who I hope will be able to arrive by then. Like everyone else, the singer takes precautions, wears the mask and keeps a safe distance from others. But, like everyone else, the period, resolutely, "piss off". At the end of the year, he could find the role of Emile in the sequel to “Vieux Fourneaux”, a film adapted from the comic strip by Lupano and Cauuet and which will bring together the same team as for the first part. "We are waiting for the scenario," he confides.

For his part, Laurent Gerra will be showing in Eric Valette's next TV movie, “Noir comme neige”, shot in January.

He is preparing a compilation of chronicles and a gourmet almanac.

And he is impatiently awaiting the reopening of theaters, to resume the tour he had to suspend last year, and also that of restaurants: he owns several in Lyon.

Broadcast on Thursday, May 27.

Price: 29.90 euros.

Tickets available at regular resellers.
