Get out of the city, discover the amazing Morocco (Photo: ShutterStock)

Morocco magically combines East and West, an old world and a new world. Its location in northwest Africa and its proximity to Europe and the ocean have created a fascinating cultural mosaic, but once you step out of the big cities and think "out of the box", you can discover a completely different Morocco, a country with natural treasures, spectacular views and many attractions you just will not want to miss.

The best way to get to all those unconventional places and enjoy them is on an organized trip, with a guide who knows Morocco from end to end, will guide you and take care to combine stories, folklore and history wherever you go. If this sounds particularly magical to you too, here are some special places, outside the city, that are recommended to visit on a trip to Morocco.

A camel ride in the Sahara

Throughout Morocco you will find quite a few camel rides and the best ones are waiting for you in the east of the country, as you go deep into the Sahara Desert and get closer to the border with Algeria. This is the perfect area to board a desert boat and embark on a journey in an ancient atmosphere between the endless dunes. If you feel like in the movie, it is not surprising that in these sands filmed some classics, like "Lawrence the Arab" and "Gladiator".

Ozud

Falls The most famous waterfalls in Morocco are located northeast of Marrakech, where the High Atlas and the Middle Atlas meet. The water plunges into the ground at an altitude of no less than 110 meters (for comparison - the height of Niagara Falls in America is 51 meters) and the green landscape surrounding the area looks as if it came straight from a postcard or painting. At the bottom of the waterfalls you can reach a special path and around you will see a variety of charming olive trees and if you look well, maybe even some cockroaches.

You may also see monkeys.

Ifran National Park

in northern Morocco, at 1,665 meters above sea level, lies between the Middle Atlas Mountains and the wonderful resort town of Ifran.

Outside it is the large national park, which opened in 2004 and offers a variety of green paths, landscapes and sunsets that will leave you excited, lakes, sculptures and lots of wandering monkeys, who will be happy to join your trip.

The most convenient route for a hike is a circular route, which takes you along almost six kilometers within the park.

Investors can choose the "monkey route", which includes a climb and lasts about eight kilometers.

Paradise Valley

If you are looking for clear and calm water that can be waded in, deep among the mountains and rocks, Paradise Valley on the outskirts of the resort town of Agadir is a must visit place.

The Tamarget River that passes through the place leaves behind a series of small and beautiful pools (you can even jump into the water from one of the rocks, carefully of course), surrounded by palm trees.

The whole place looks like someone built it in a water park, but it is completely real and natural.

Quiet, clear and hidden.

The Eureka Valley The Eureka

River flows east of Marrakech and if you are visiting the city, a day trip in the Eureka Valley is a perfect way to get a little out into nature and see a new attraction, with a completely different character.

In the valley you will find a number of typical barbarian villages, waterfalls and bridges with which you can cross from one side of the fast river to the other bank.

When visiting the valley, do not miss the experience of staying in a traditional Moroccan house, where you will be taught about the preparation of oil in the area and the local culture.

Dads Mall

The Dades River, which originated in the High Atlas, found its way between the mountains and hills and formed another wadi wadi.

These make up the Dades Canyon, with its winding roads and unique natural formations, created in part as a result of earthquakes, so that the canyon, which was initially lower than sea level, rose above it.

If you are a hiking enthusiast, the Dads Mall is the place for you.

Summer is hot there, and in winter you can find snow on the mountain tops and in any case, you can move between the villages in the area and be impressed by the lifestyles of the locals.
