Dutch violinist and conductor Andre Rio returns to Israel and will hold two concerts at Menora Mivtachim Hall in Tel Aviv on November 3 and 4.
Rio was supposed to arrive in Israel last November, but due to the Corona the concerts were canceled. He performed in Israel in 2018 and was a great success. His concerts combine waltzes, music from movies and musicals, opera hits and folk songs.
"My dear friends, I am really excited to finally arrive in Israel," Rio told the Israeli audience. "The past year has strengthened our passion for music, our desire to perform for you, our longing to meet you. It is true that the Corona epidemic has postponed our concerts all over the world, but we do not give up. You, Israel, are the first country we return to. Thank you for your loyalty. And your patience, please stay healthy. "
Rio began his career as an ordinary violinist, but did not want to settle for a career as an orchestra player. In the 1970s, about a year after graduating from the Brussels Academy of Music, he formed a small orchestra that specialized in waltz music, and gained his first fans. In the 80's it became a phenomenon: the small orchestra swelled, he held about 100 concerts a year, dressed his musicians in traditional Viennese attire and played beloved and sweet melodies to the audience.
During 30 years of operation, Rio has sold more than 40 million albums, starred at the top of European pop charts, earned millions, and ignored chirping critics with a smile at his colorful kitsch performances.
Those who purchased tickets for last year's shows that were canceled will be able to use tickets for the new shows. Tickets can be purchased on the Lan website.
