(ANSAMed) - BEIRUT, APRIL 26 - The balance of violent armed clashes that took place in the last 24 hours in northern Yemen is over 60 dead, where a battle between Huthi insurgents and loyalist forces has been going on for weeks for control of Maarib, the last government stronghold in the northern regions of the country.
According to pan-Arab and international media, there are 65 deaths in the battles of Maarib. Among these at least 26 are loyalists of forces supported by Saudi Arabia. About forty victims are among the ranks of the insurgents considered close to Iran.
Despite the intense and repeated air raids of Riyadh's air force, the Houthis are just a few kilometers from the capital city of the rich oil region. (ANSAMed).
