The eggplant steak that made Gordon Ramsey announce: I'm becoming vegan (@gordonramsayofficial)
Renowned British chef Gordon Ramsey has revealed to his 22 million followers on the network that he has become vegan. He justified his decision with an eggplant steak recipe that serves as the ultimate substitute, he says, for the meat steak.
The 54-year-old chef, famous for his love of meat, drove his fans crazy when he shared his recipe for making a vegan steak at Tiktok. In the short video, which garnered more than 21 million views, Ramsey told his fans: "Hey guys, this is Gordon. I have a confession. After three decades of cooking, hundreds upon hundreds and thousands of hours behind the stove, I am becoming vegan."
He then goes on to demonstrate his recipe for a vegan steak. It opens by burning the eggplant on the fire, seasoning and generously greasing it, putting a pan on the fire with spices, red wine and vegan butter, and after the wine is reduced, it adds the eggplant. He coats the eggplant in the sauce from the pan and lets it simmer. Finally, he serves the eggplant with mashed potatoes, adds garnish and pours over sauce to complete the dish. Definitely looks stimulating.
