This Tuesday at 17.38 another Aerolineas Argentinas plane arrived in Ezeiza from China, with

371,200 Sinopharm vaccines

against the coronavirus.

It is the second of the three flights with which

one million doses

will be brought to the country

.

A delivery schedule that will be completed this Wednesday, when the remaining 244,800 doses arrive on a Lufthansa flight

.

Sources consulted by Clarín indicated that in the next few days

a new Airlines flight to China

could leave

in search of another million doses -the fourth-, with which the contract with Sinopharm would be finalized.

The Airbus 330-200 aircraft, registration LV-GIF, took off on Sunday afternoon from Beijing to Madrid, where it arrived at dawn to carry out the technical refueling stopover and then start the journey to Buenos Aires.

"This is the

second of three flights scheduled

this week to receive 1 million doses of this vaccine through a joint operation between the flag line and Lufthansa," the government said in an official statement.

In this context, he recalled that "this Sunday Aerolineas Argentinas flight AR1061 arrived with 384,000."

Regarding the cargo that arrived, it was detailed that "in this operation, each vial contains one dose of the vaccine per box, which is why the volume of the cargo is three times greater and should have been distributed in the three detailed trips."

The Ministry of Health reported that this million doses - which will be completed on Wednesday - will be destined to complete the vaccination schedules already started.

That is, it will be used as a

second dose

to conclude the inoculation.

In this sense, it was clarified that the people who will receive the second dose will be mostly

teachers and adults with previous illnesses

.

Quite a novelty, since in the first instance, the Chinese vaccine was not approved to be supplied in older adults.

The first and second doses of the Sinopharm vaccine are the same, so the vaccines that will arrive could also be used for people not yet inoculated;

but

by decision of the state health authority it

was decided that it be administered to people who have already received the first dose.

The priority of the arrival of the Sinopharm vaccine will be to complete the inoculation circle.

"The recommendation has been communicated and agreed in the framework of the meeting of the National Immunization Commission and the Federal Health Council held last Wednesday," they reported from the Nation.

The decision to complete the vaccination circle is due to the fact that no new contracts were signed with the Chinese company, so the priority now is to finish the vaccination process of those people who have already received the first dose from the Chinese laboratory.

In this sense, the Public Vaccination Monitor, which allows the inoculation process to be followed in real time, shows that as of Monday 8,701,508 vaccines had been distributed throughout the country, of which 7,214,704: 6,341 had already been applied. 959 of them correspond to the first dose and 872,745 to the second.

With the flight that arrived this Monday,

Aerolineas Argentinas has already completed 16 services

for the transport of vaccines.

The four flights to China were on February 25, bringing 904,000 doses;

on April 1, with 1,000,000 doses;

Sunday's with 384,000 vaccinations;

and that of this Monday, with 371,200.
