With more than 6,000 patients in critical care, France is at a level that had never been reached since the start of the third wave.

D-7 before the lifting of daytime traffic restrictions: on May 3, you can go beyond 10 kilometers around your home without having to justify yourself by a certificate.

However, figures from Public Health France published on Monday show that hospitalizations continue to increase, although more slightly than the announcement of confinement at the end of March.

Currently, 30,596 people are hospitalized in France due to Covid-19: this is 309 more than Sunday (30,287).

Seven days ago, hospitals were occupied by 31,214 people… These new figures therefore show that hospital pressure is always stronger.

There is also a slight increase in critical care (resuscitation, continuous monitoring, intensive care).

Currently, 6,001 patients are hospitalized there, compared to 5,978 on Sunday and 5,970 seven days ago.

470 new admissions have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

We therefore passed the symbolic bar of 6,000 patients, never reached for a year: on April 16, 2020, 6,139 patients were in critical care.

This figure climbed to 7,019 on April 8, 2020.

400 new deaths

The number of daily deaths also remains very high.

In the past 24 hours, there have been 400 additional deaths in hospital, compared to 145 on Saturday and 449 last Sunday.

More than 103,000 people have died from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic.

The vaccination, it continues.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 14,297,308 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 21.3% of the total population and 27.2% of the adult population) and 5,691,519 people have received two injections. (or 8.5% of the total population and 10.8% of the adult population), notes this Monday the Directorate General of Health.
