Should we continue to wear the mask when we are with our family and everyone has been vaccinated?
No, answers the High Council of Public Health, in a note published on Sunday.
“All the people together may not wear a mask if they have all benefited from a complete vaccination schedule,” writes the HCSP, “on condition that the other barrier measures are respected.
"
“In a private family or friendly environment in a closed indoor environment”, explains the HCSP, we can drop the mask if everyone has been vaccinated, if we wash our hands, if we maintain a distance, if we ventilate and if we are not more than six.
"This recommendation does not apply when one of the members presents a risk factor for serious forms (age, comorbidity)", however specifies the High Council.
If it is to accommodate grandparents, wearing a mask is therefore recommended.
If only one person is not vaccinated, it is also recommended to keep the mask.
The mask always recommended outdoors
“In a collective framework in the general population”, inside and outside, the HCSP recommends, even to vaccinated people, to “continue to respect the application of barrier measures including wearing a mask and limiting movement. in accordance with the evolution of national decisions according to the progress of vaccination coverage ”. It is also recommended to "not participate in or organize groupings of people beyond what is legally authorized".
Concretely, despite the vaccination, it remains essential to be careful. Thus, the HCSP recommends "to continue the application of barrier measures during this period, even while being vaccinated" - the High Council also demands that the government communicate on this importance. He also recalls that people who have been vaccinated must, like those who are not, be able to be considered as a "contact case" if they meet people who are positive for Covid-19.
