Ten years after its debut, the group from Clermont-Ferrand has nothing to lose.
“It never really worked for us
,” explains Jean Felzine, singer, guitarist and lyricist of the trio.
I don't envy those whose first album was a hit, that must make the rest more complicated, ”he
adds.
After seven years of absence, devoted to side projects, the trio released
Memento Mori
, their best record.

On this one, Mustang freed itself from the expectations placed on them by the critics, who fell under the spell of their singular appearance.
“
Memento Mori
is the album on which we least feel our influences,”
admits Felzine, who has long suffered from being considered a retro rocker nostalgic for the fifties.
With his new songs, he achieves a skillful fusion of guitar riffs, slightly dirty synth sounds and caustic lyrics.
All served by a magnificent voice, one of the most beautiful in activity on the French scene.
