The director of the Gamaleya Research Center, Alexander Gintsburg, reported on Monday that the interval between the first and second doses of the Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus can be extended up to 3 months.

"With regard to the Sputnik V vaccine designed by our Gamaleya Research Center, we believe it is possible to increase the minimum interval between the first and second vaccines from the previously approved 21 days to three months," Gintsburg said in a statement.

"Extending the interval will not affect the vaccine, it induces an immune response and, in some cases, it will enhance and prolong it," he added.

News in development.
