After thrilling us at the beacon ceremony on the eve of Independence Day, tonight (Monday) Ilanit arrives on the program "Live in Gimel" which is broadcast from the Enav Center in Tel Aviv, and will be broadcast starting at 9:00 PM here in Gimel and on the "Israel Today" website.

Ilanit is the DNA of Israeliness in general, and of Israeli music in particular. Behind it is a more than 50-year career, with timeless songs, representing Israel almost everywhere in the world and two Eurovision contests (she was the first to represent Israel, in a competition in '73).
Ilanit holds an unparalleled record: she has won the title of "Singer of the Year" seven times in a row (1971-1977) in the annual parades of the Voice of Israel, and "Song of the Day" she originally performed is the most played song on all radio stations in the first two decades of Millennium.
At the beacon lighting ceremony, alongside Margalit Tsanani, Ilanit represented the veteran Israeli singers.
Ilanit will return to the band's performances on May 25 at Zappa Beer Sheva and on June 1 at Zappa Haifa, and in an intimate performance at the Enav Center on May 22.
Tonight she will excite us all in a private performance, with her timeless songs, including "Walk and Sit After You", "Love is a Song for Two", "A Song of a Small Day", "Eretz Eretz", "Israeli" and many many others.
