The federal government has announced a vaccination turbo for June.

The manufacturers Biontech and Pfizer would deliver an additional 50 million doses of corona vaccine to Germany and the other EU countries by the end of June.

As the Ärzteblatt EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen quotes, the delivery will be distributed across the 27 EU countries according to the proportion of the population.

For Germany this means: In June, a good nine million vaccine doses will be available nationwide.

General practitioners' practices also have the option to order more vaccine at the latest by then.

On the part of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians it says: “According to the Coronavirus Vaccination Ordinance of the Federal Ministry of Health, all contract doctors are allowed to vaccinate and order vaccines in their pharmacy.

There are no restrictions.

Due to the shortage of vaccines, it is currently only

recommended that family doctors in particular should vaccinate

".

But how do citizens proceed who want to be vaccinated by their family doctor?

Doctors' offices prioritize independently: This is how you register for the corona vaccination

If you want to be vaccinated against Corona, you can put yourself on the waiting list online at the responsible vaccination center.

But doctors and trained employees in medical practices have also been allowed to vaccinate against corona since the 14th calendar week - i.e. since the week after Easter

.

The Federal Chancellor and the heads of government of the federal states agreed on this on March 19, 2021.

The order quantity is initially limited to 18 to a maximum of 50 vaccine doses per week, as stated by the Federal Ministry of Health.

But with better availability, the general practitioners can order a larger amount of corona vaccine doses - this should be the case in a few weeks.

Those who want to be vaccinated and want to register for a vaccination with their family doctor should call the practice and ask about the possibility of being placed on the vaccination waiting list.

As a rule, you have to present your insurance card and fill out an anamnesis form to register.

Your family doctor can also explain the risks and side effects of the vaccination and advise you on the various corona vaccines.

Depending on your state of health, age and other risk factors, the doctor's practice will independently prioritize and call you if a vaccination appointment can be assigned to you
