India is the largest producer of vaccines in the world.
It has a capacity to produce approximately 2.5 million vaccines per day, and unfortunately that is what the vaccination program is using at the moment. What India has done is to stop all their exports to other countries, "Goobi said.

, the diplomat stressed that India had decided to give
"priority" to vaccinating its population
, and clarified: "In February they were complying with contracts and making supplies, but now the Government requires that the national, that is the limitation that is having ".
"There is an Intergovernmental Committee that authorizes the release of vaccines, and at this time it is not authorizing, or in very few cases," he stressed.
In recent days, Argentina imported from India a shipment of 864,000 doses of Covishield, the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.
