The swabs so far made on the Sikh community in the province of Latina "are all negative to the Indian variant".
This was stated by the director of the Inmi Spallanzani of Rome Francesco Vaia.
"We are continuing with active surveillance and swab examinations, but currently zero Indian variant cases," adds Vaia.
"Since 19 April 15 samples have arrived from the ASL of Latina to Spallanzani, out of 9 the English variant has been found and out of 6 genomic sequencing is in progress", specify health sources.
"We have a constant dialogue with the ASL that has intensified in recent days. Since March 1 there are 275 positives in the Sikh community, of which 37 students in schools in Sabaudia, Pontinia and Latina. Overall if in absolute it does not affect the overall figure for the single community it is significant ", explains Maurizio Falco, prefect of Latina.
