The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection today (Tuesday) warned hikers of entering four streams in the north of the country, after the water in them was found to be polluted.
According to a joint statement issued by the two ministries, sampling tests were carried out yesterday for the Jordan, Gilbon, Zaki and Zalmon streams - and the results in which deviated from the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (400 fecal ultrasounds), a figure indicating the presence of water pollution.
Due to this, the ministries announced that the entrance to the streams could be temporarily dangerous: in the Jordan River from the fifth bridge to the side of Ataret, in the Gilbon stream in the area of Deborah Falls, in the Zaki stream and in the Zalmon stream in the carob pool.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection did not find the source of the pollution in the rivers, and together with the Ministry of Health announced that they will continue to sample and monitor the pollution in the river, and will update later as needed.
