Bar of the year, illy and Gambero Rosso reward sustainability

TRIESTE - Encouraging a restart in the name of sustainability: the illy Bar of the Year award aims at this goal, which in this edition will select those who, among the operators in the sector, will have been able to promote a green culture within their business.



On the occasion of the presentation of the 22nd edition of illycaffè and Gambero Rosso's Italian Bar Guide, scheduled for October, the bar will be awarded which, "without prejudice to an offer of absolute quality, will have distinguished itself for the choice of short chain foods, a proposal that favors the seasonality of raw materials; the use of eco-sustainable disposable accessories made with recyclable materials; the correct disposal of waste in separate collection according to the rules of the Municipalities; attention to promoting a culture of energy saving, with particular attention to renewable sources ".



The jury will be composed of experts from Gambero Rosso and illycaffè. "Promoting sustainable quality is one of our main objectives - explains Massimiliano Pogliani, illycaffè CEO - consistently with this principle, we strive every day to ensure that sustainability is an important component in all projects that involve us. Quest 'year, the quality of coffee and service will be the necessary but not sufficient basis to win the illy Bar of the Year award: it will be essential to think about the future and promote innovation in the name of sustainability ".
